Seven years old, sitting in the back seat of my dad’s Pontiac Bonneville, it was my job to read the maps and navigate my parents and I on a month-long trip from New York to California and back. Ever since, I’ve loved to travel. But not just the trip itself; I’ve always loved researching and planning a trip, right down to the smallest details. Many people love to just drop into a place and figure it out as they go – that’s not me! I want to know (in advance) what hotels not only provide the best value but are in the best location for what I plan to see, what the best choices of restaurants are, what sights shouldn’t be missed (AND when are the best times to go see them), even where the best shopping can be found (for the traveler with me who loves shopping). My wife Grace (for whom GG’s Romantic Travels is named) and I moved to Florida from New York in 2005, primarily to escape those Northeastern winters! But even though the weather stays nice in South Florida throughout most of the winter, getaways to the Caribbean are always tempting. We’ve been married since 2000 and yet people are always telling us that we still act like newlyweds.
