Our Philosophy Our philosophical approach is to focus on long-term relationships with our customers and other business associates, including our banker, insurance agent, attorney, safety and IT consultants, equipment manufacturers and other vendors. They understand our vision and provide us with the tools which allow us to focus on our core business. GenOx was founded in 2001 by Kevin and Russell Mathews. Russ and Kevin are well known in the industrial gas community including producers, suppliers and motor carrier competitors. In 1982, Russ founded Cryogenic Transportation, Inc. and developed it into a multi-million dollar industrial gas transporter before selling it in 1996. Building on his father’s experience, Kevin identified the need for “call and demand” solutions in the transportation of cryogenic liquids and has since built GenOx into the successful enterprise it is today “I want to thank you and your driver Sean for doing a fantastic job for us here at Airgas Southwest! Thanks!” Kevin Mathews has assembled an experienced leadership team that brings unparalleled expertise in the transportation business to his company. This is why GenOx’ customers receive the best possible service available in the compressed gas industry. Kevin L. Mathews started his transportation career in 1981 at Herman Brothers in Omaha, Nebraska. After earning his degree in economics from Millikin University, he worked for Archer Daniels Midland Company and Matlack Systems Inc. Kevin rounded out his transportation experience by working for his father in industrial gas transportation. Combining his experience, knowledge and respect for the customer’s need for reliable transportation, Kevin started GenOx in 2001. Kevin continues to fulfill his vision for serving the transportation community with excellence and integrity. Russell Mathews Russell L. Mathews has over 50 years experience in the distribution of industrial gases, both in private industry and contract/common carriage. During his career he held a number of management and executive positions at Airco Industrial Gases. Russ joined with Kevin to form GenOx after having developed his own successful transportation company which he operated for 14 years. Russ continues to work with Kevin in the day-to-day operations. Lisa began her career in the corporate world of oil and gas. In combination with her degree and experience in logistics, process controls and accounting, Lisa joined GenOx in 2003 and has since developed their administrative and accounting departments which has allowed the company to grow to its present size.
