Gast Construction Group is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream of Allen's to own his own Construction Management Firm. Allen's passion for business and construction began in high school, continued through college, and has never stopped. Allen attended the University of Florida and graduated from UF's prestigious ME Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction in 2000. After graduation, Allen worked for a construction company in Orlando and he was promoted from Project Engineer to Assistant Project Manager and finally to Project Manager. In 2005, Allen became a Licensed General Contractor in the State of Florida with the intent of opening his own construction company. The timing was not quite right; however, as he was being recruited by the Weitz Company in West Palm Beach, Florida. Allen accepted the opportunity with Weitz to build larger projects as well as to make a geographical move to South Florida with his wife, Jodi. In 2009, Allen began working at Hedrick Brothers Construction. Then in 2011, Allen and his wife decided that it was finally time for him to pursue his dream. Allen left his job at Hedrick Brothers and founded Gast Construction Group. When Allen started Gast Construction Group in 2011, he had no projects and no staff. In less than 6 years, Gast Construction Group has grown from a one-man operation to a booming Construction Management Firm employing 20 construction professionals. Allen's vision is for Gast Construction Group to be a sought after and recognized name in the commercial, residential and property management markets in Palm Beach County. LEED AP - Since 2008. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is a Certification Program provided by the United States Green Building Council 2015-2017 Chairman of ACE Mentor Program of Palm Beach and Martin Counties - ACE provides High School Students with a Program to learn about careers in Architecture, Construction and Engineering by bringing in members of the industry to teach the students about what they do for a living. Jodi is incredibly proud to be a small business owner in Palm Beach County and to work with her husband, Allen. It has been amazing for Jodi to see the growth of the company in such a short amount of time, and she looks forward to spending the rest of her life working with Allen and the Team at Gast Construction. Jodi was born and raised in a very small town in Iowa. She had big dreams as a child to get out of that town and to make a difference in the world. She credits her Midwestern upbringing for her strong work ethic and her belief in the golden rule – always treat others the way you would want to be treated. Jodi couldn’t wait to start working at age 16 – she was a waitress and absolutely loved the sales and customer service side of that job. During college, she studied Journalism and Mass Communications – gaining experience writing for the student newspaper, for a business magazine, and for the athletic department at Iowa State University. Jodi completed an internship as a resort & recreation camp counselor in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina one summer and she completed her internship to graduate from college at a TV station in Birmingham, Alabama. Jodi was actively involved in Kappa Delta Sorority during her time at Iowa State – serving as Assistant Treasurer, then Treasurer, then President of the sorority. She was also elected as Treasurer of Panhellenic during her last year at Iowa State. After college graduation, Jodi realized that a journalism career was not her dream, so she decided to focus on sales – working at a country club to sell fitness memberships, working as a sales and marketing director for a corporate housing company, and working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in their Management Training program. After those job experiences, she found a good fit in Pharmacy Technology Sales. For 14 years, Jodi worked for a leading developer and supplier of pharmacy management software solutions to the independent retail, hospital, long-term care and specialty pharmacy markets. During her career, she was promoted from the Implementation Department to Inside Sales to Outside Sales, eventually becoming the top salesperson for the company. She worked with and built relationships with thousands of pharmacists, hospitals, and doctors who owned and operated their own independent pharmacies. Before quitting her career in Pharmacy Technology Sales, she was in talks for a Vice President position with that company, but she decided ultimately that she would rather pursue her dreams with Allen and the rest of the Team at Gast Construction. Jodi joined Gast Construction full-time in June 2016 after quitting her successful career in Pharmacy Technology Sales.
