Max Duthie received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Webster University. He brings to Gardens of New Beginnings a wonderful combination of healthcare administration and business development with a strong desire to help and give back to those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. Dr. Johnson received her PHD in psychology from The University of Florida. Her passion and desire for helping struggling alcoholics and addicts is great and of key importance where successful treatment planning can mean the difference and help each of our clients ensure long term recovery. Our mission is to provide psychological, spiritual, and physical approaches to the treatment of addiction in order to help men, women, and their families suffering from addiction. Our Christian track program helps individuals who believe in Christ and who have fallen into alcoholism or drug addiction find a better and new way of life. By applying Christian traditions, principles and prayer, our program helps people who have become addicted to drugs and alcohol find a new way of life. Completed by our medical doctor, every client upon admission to our facility gets a comprehensive health assessment to address any health concerns you may have and help put a solution in place. We want you to be familiar and educated with the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction so you understand how to manage the addiction, maintain sobriety and most importantly so you never have to go back. By using cutting edge evidence based therapies we help educate you on your disease. Everyone can live a clean and sober life and we will help you achieve that goal. Each client receives an individually tailored program to meet his or her unique needs in order to fully experience and embrace the positive aspects of recovery. At Garden of New Beginnings we believe that healing the whole body is an important component of your treatment. We encourage you to participate in Holistic healing services such as massage therapy, yoga, Ti-Chi, acupuncture, massage and chiropractic care. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that allows people to recover and heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of past traumas, life experiences and PTSD. We help you to overcome you past. Many clients that come into our program have a dual diagnosis disorder which is a mood disorder such as depression or bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression) and a problem with alcohol or drugs. We work side by side with you helping you find the right medication and the balance between the addiction and co-occurring disorder. Finding the right medical therapy is a key and crucial part of your recovery. Our on-site physician provides medication management and education to help you learn to manage your medication(s); finding balance in your life while in our program. Recovery is supposed to be fun. We didn’t get clean and sober to be miserable. While in our drug and alcohol treatment program we help you along the way learn to have fun in recovery. Typical weekly activities include going to the beach, Movie night, 12 step functions, and events, Park and recreation time, Barbecues and family home style dinners.
