We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch - we are going back from whence we came.
Welcome to the Gallant Gallery. A website deciated to beautiful marine life art and conservation. Our artists are known throughout the marine community for their incredible talents. Over the last ten years, the gallery has worked with some of the best names in the marine industry.
Bodo Muche was born in Saxony, Germany. A boyhood spent exploring Germany’s forests with his entomologist father, began a life long fascination with nature. Cultural Influences from his home city of Dresden fused his passion for nature with the arts. Trained under the masters of the Museum of Natural History, Berlin, his studies included zoological science, anatomy, art history and design, as well as all phases of sculpture. Inspiration was ignited by the 17th Century French school of naturalistic artists, "Les Animaliers". He departed Berlin, gaining his degree from Freiberg University, Black Forest. Thereafter, began many years of travels and scientific expeditions throughout Africa. Residence and studios in Tanzania and Botswana over seventeen years provided a wealth of experience in all elements of sculpture, whilst fulfilling a passion to explore the wilderness. “It was during this time the sight of a free jumping Sailfish off the coast of the Seychelles Islands inspired my first sculpture of a game fish.” said Bodo. Bodo Muche shares a passion for conservation of marine resources and has been honored as IGFA Artist of the Year. He has partnered with the IGFA over many years and was commissioned to create major awards for the duration of the IGFA Offshore World Championship. Annual Winners of the IGFA Great Marlin Race currently receive a Bodo Muche trophy. “Bodo’s highly coveted works are handcrafted and the detail is exquisite. They are sought after not only by Champions but collectors around the world.” said Rob Kramer, President IGFA. Bodo and his wife Robyn have two daughters and three grandchildren. Bodo Muche Studio - Foundry is located in Queensland, Australia. Bodo and Robyn Muche's home and studio is located at "Mt Glenhowden" in Queensland, Australia. Home and travels continue to provide inspiration for his development as a contemporary naturalistic artist.
Alan Feldmesser is quickly becoming recognized as one of todays leading marine wildlife artists in the medium of oil paint. Combining his love for nature, marine life, scuba diving, underwater photography, and his unsurpassed technical ability to capture the details of our surroundings, has lead to a very unique style of realism within the marine wildlife art world. Alan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Painting from Syracuse University. While there, he studied under Jerome Witkin, who is recognized as one of the most formidable contemporary figurative painters in the world. After college he apprenticed with renowned portrait painter Ralph Wolfe Cowan for several years before opening his own studio. For 17 years he taught Painting and Drawing, first at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida and later at a prestigious private high school in Broward County, Florida where he developed their painting and drawing curriculum that is still implemented today. He offers a variety of fine art Gicleés that are signed and numbered limited editions of his work, apparel, and his original oil paintings on canvas. To help preserve the place he loves the most, the ocean, he donates a portion of the proceeds collected here at Under the Sea, LLC to various reef, fish, marine wildlife, and ocean conservation groups.
