As a licensed mental health counselor and a school counselor for over 20 years, Jennifer knows firsthand the challenges of childhood and adolescence. Children are survivors of grief and trauma. They experience family changes and friendship worries. They may learn or socialize differently. Children sometimes feel anxious or depressed and their emotions may significantly impact their behaviors. Often these challenges interfere with children’s success at school and stability at home. Through intentional care and child friendly therapeutic strategies, Jennifer’s goal is to help children continue to thrive through it all. Utilizing play, art, games, and bibliotherapy, children can learn to feel safe sharing their thoughts, understanding their emotions and regulating their behaviors.
