I was in Spain in 2001 during one of my travels when a sage waiter at a café told me something that always stuck with me. He said, “Americans live to work. We, Spaniards, work to live!” That was an aha moment for me. We are all so busy running our everyday lives: work, kids, family, house, mortgage (you know the drill) that we forget to have fun. It is so easy to do, right? We all carry that never-ending to-do list. That was the moment when I decided that I would put having fun on top of my to-do list. Finding your passion in life and rediscover your sense of self is so important for your mental and physical health. Once I decided to make having fun a priority, I started to ask myself what brought me happiness? What did I truly enjoy doing?
