Justis St John comes from a unconventional background. Born and raised in South Florida, St John learned early on that being a Florida surfer is a difficult thing. Once old enough to travel, St John’s passion for surfing and especially traveling grew. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Business Finance, an unfortunate ACL knee injury landed St John in a corporate career with Cox Media. 7 years of newspaper marketing and advertising sales resulted. St John’s passion for videography remained and a chance trip to the Mentawais Islands in 2006 reunited his passion for travel and film. Shortly after, St John traded his corporate career for the jungle and a camera. St John’s films focus on the beauty of the location and he spent the next 5 years living and documenting the surf in the outer reaches of Indonesia. His most valued client compliment “Justis’ films make me want to get up out of my chair and see the world” sums up his vision. Today, St John splits his time between Indonesia and the United States. His passion lies in chasing swells around the world and thrives on being in the right place at the right time. His unique background of videography and business advertising allow him to present his client’s vision in a way that yields strong, successful digital campaigns. His current clients over the past year are Billabong, Kandui Resort and Hurley.
