I am an artist and a therapist  (L.M.H.C. -licensed mental health counselor)  who uses the creative arts, including the drum, to help people heal, to bring rhythm, balance, and color to their lives, and to help them find their “light” and their passion.   I hold a Masters Degree in Counselor Education from an accredited university in Florida. Thank you for visiting Frog and Drum LLC.     The story of the Frog and our explanation of the Shamanic Medicine Wheel,  will give you an overview of our philosophy of the healing process.    Life is a journey of transformation and change.   Let us help you to Heal Your Past,  to Celebrate Your Present, and to Dream Your Future! The Shamanic tradition teaches that there are four directions to the medicine wheel.   The first direction (South) is that of the physical where we look for structure, order, and rules.   Traditional medicine heals the body and works from a physical perspective.   As an example, most treatment facilities for addiction work at this level, with detoxification and structured rules to assist the addict to remain clean and sober.    This is the first level of healing that works with the body once a disease pattern has manifested.  The second direction (West) is that of the emotional, where we are governed by our moods and emotions such as anger, grief, and anxiety.    These emotional patterns can come from our own irrational thinking and constructs, often  learned or "inherited" from our families,  or developed as a result of stress and trauma that occurs during our passage through life.   The emotional turbulence can lead to chaos and a permanent sense of fight or flight.    Most traditional therapy deals with the issues that occur at this level.   The third direction (North), is the path to discovery of our mission in life, our true calling and passion.   In the Shamanic tradition, this direction is represented by Hummingbird- the bird that shouldn’t be able to fly, yet travels unerringly for long distances during their migratory flight.    The fourth direction (East) is the place of the spiritual, where we rediscover our connection to God and to the mythic.    The journey around the medicine wheel is all about transforming our lives, raising our vibrations, and discovering the destiny that we were born to manifest.     If you are looking for healing in your life,  or more direction on your journey, it is our mission to be of service. .   We are looking forward to hearing from you.
