Tom (TJ) Frisbee stands with the Iver Johnson bicycle (wooden rims added later) that his dad, Bel, rode with friends in Pasadena CA, in the 1930s. The joy of cycling was passed down as Tom picked up a fixed-gear bike while in college, commuting and training in the hills of SoCal. On opening day, people lined up to see this new business, and the equipment needed for the newly popular sport of cycling. The 1000 square foot store was busy all day, and continued to be so, creating the need for a larger space for product, and the repair area need to keep everyone rolling. August of 1974 saw the emergence of a new address with 2400 square feet, more staff and more product. The physically active Ridgecrest community made Frisbee’s a local gathering place, and many new friendships, and competitions, were cemented there. Here we are today, continuing the tradition started many years ago, doing our best to deal honestly and in a friendly professional manner with all who walk through the door.
