Freund Associates Technical Communication Annette Freund is the owner and managing director of Freund Associates. Her 20-year career in business began as a documentation and training specialist for Western Union Corporation as well as freelance work for AT&T and Lucent Technologies. In 1996, when Lucent asked her to develop and manage an offsite team of tech writers, she jumped at the opportunity, and Freund Associates was born. The company now has over 30 writers who work in one or more of the company’s business units: marketing, documentation (manuals), and training development. Prior to her business career, Dr. Freund was a tenured, associate professor of English, teaching technical writing, literature, composition, and business communication. She holds a doctorate in English/Writing Specialist from the State University of New York in Albany, as well as M.A. and B.A degrees in English.
