The Thrift Store was opened in 2014 as a revenue source for Fresh Start's housing and education programs. The store inventory is donated by generous citizens and businesses. Once inventory is received, it is cleaned, repaired, priced and sold by volunteers in the store. We are always seeking donations, shoppers, and smiling volunteers to help us run the store! Grant money will be used to create the Fresh Start Family Activity Center,which would provide a supervised place for children to socialize and play while parents pursue training. The grant would fund a multipurpose building, ADA-compliant playground, recreational play pad, walking path, garden boxes, fencing, lighting and utilities. We are in need of friendly people who want to spend a few hours per week volunteering at our beautiful and busy Thrift Store. We have lots of great folks, but because we are SO blessed with donations and shoppers we need MORE friendly people! More cashiers, more donation sorters, delivery drivers, etc. If you have time, energy, and a smile we can use you! Our Mission is to share love and compassion through a comprehensive educational, vocational, and economic housing program to help homeless families achieve self-sufficiency.
