Born in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Marc was a health and fitness enthusiast since his youth. Having secured a personal trainer by the tender age of 11, Elkman would hit the gym before the first bell rang at his middle school. He fondly recalls his friends not really knowing what “working out” was, but was happy to inspire them to get engaged in a fitness routine of their own. He knew then that his passion for getting others interested in living a healthier lifestyle wouldn’t end when school let out. Upon graduating from Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, Marc became a certified Personal Trainer, working out with the elderly at the Boca Raton Polo Club, where unbeknownst to him, his future partner, Chef Patrick Delaney was working as the Executive Chef. At the same time, he was recruited by the NCAA and was playing as a coveted left-handed pitcher. While training, Elkman was struggling between lifting heavy at the gym and staying limber enough to be a pitcher. After playing one year of college baseball, Marc began doing All-Natural Bodybuilding shows and at the age of 19 he started competing at the national level winning and placing in multiple shows. During this time Marc soon realized the correlation between the power of food and his successes, “I would strip my body down of fat and show at 3% body fat, accomplishing it all mainly by diet, sleep and training,” says Elkman. Marc attended college at FAU throughout his bodybuilding career, wherein he was pursing a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Hospitality Management. In 2011, when Elkman was only 24 years old, he proposed the Fresh Meal Plan concept to Delaney, who agreed to be a Founder. Their mission was simple: “to offer a delicious, affordable, high-end meal program that will change as many lives as possible.” Fresh Meal Plan currently delivers in the South Florida and Orlando markets, and will further expand to Tampa, St. Petersburg, and the New York metro area in the near future. As a native of Lawrence, Mass., Delaney was fervent about food from an early age and put his passion to practice by studying the culinary arts at the Greater Lawrence Vocational School in Andover, Mass. Upon completion, Delaney was then accepted to the prestigious   in Hyde Park, N.Y. and was a member of its graduating class in 1983. During his extensive culinary career, Patrick been awarded many achievements, including being named a Sysco Showcase Chef. He has been a Distinguished Visiting Chef at Johnson & Wales University, and was the Executive Chef for hundreds of national conventions for corporations such as Nike, Sun Micro Systems and Ford Motor Company.
