I thought I was doing everything right...
I was working a great day job as a high end appliance sales person, making decent money with decent benefits.
But, I quickly realized... How long could I keep this up? Why would I want to work 40-50 hours a week for 40+ years making only decent money and then have to live off of 40% of my income when I retire? I've already gone through 3-4 pay cuts, would I even have enough money to retire on?
The problem though was that I was only making about $2,500/Mo,
The real problem was that as my daughter got older things got more expensive. When she was younger I could take her to the park and make a frozen pizza and suddenly I am the dad of the year. I wanted to be able to take more trips to the Disney parks, and not just the local community park. It was frustrating knowing that I couldn't provide all of the things I felt my daughter deserved.
but what it really came down to was that I wanted to provide the life that my daughter deserved from me.
I had a little success here and there but I was spending more money than I was making. I probably looked like this guy below.
I also considered starting a photography business since I absolutely love taking pictures of anything and everything. Several friends told me sell my photography prints online or to start booking photoshoots. The problem was that I might make $50-100 at a time but it was a one time thing,
a photography business that produced consistent money month after month.
