Fran Rubio-Katz is the founder of The Learning Loft and a passionate mother of two boys. She is a dedicated professional educator, with over twenty-years experience and is one of 55 Conscious Discipline® Certified Instructors worldwide. She is known to many parents as Franny911 and to her students as Ms. Franny. Ms. Franny has worked with hundreds of children and families throughout the years. No matter the issue, her philosophy is always the same—it’s all about the connection. Ms. Franny says, “When we feel emotionally safe and connected to others, we begin to thrive and are open to learning and new experiences.” Kristen McLaren Ojito, a Fort Lauderdale native, earned a BFA in Dance from the University of Florida, where her passion for teaching grew out of her appetite for learning new things. During her studies, Kristen performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., danced with horses with The Equus Projects, and traveled the length of Florida by bicycle. Afterwards, she found herself back in Fort Lauderdale as a dance educator and manager of a performing arts school. Today, Kristen is a wife, stepmother, and Safe Keeper at The Learning Loft and Church by the Sea School. The day she became a Safe Keeper at The Learning Loft is the day she understood her goal as an educator: to help her students acquire the foundational skills and curiosity to excel in any subject or craft, without reservations.
