he story of Four Star Jewelry began in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1953, where at the time Selman and Elsa Bruck were expecting the arrival of a bouncing baby boy (me) and Selman first started a jewelry hand engraving business in a small room of the apartment where they lived. A short time after he relocated to the second floor of an old building in Libertad Street, Buenos Aires' version of a wholesale and retail jewelry district. e continued doing beautiful hand engraved creations there till the family relocated to the United states in 1969 where they set up a shop in New York's 47th Street Diamond and Jewelry District and continued specializing in hand engraving. About that time it became Elsa's wish to grow the business and so the family started adding a few pieces of jewelry to their one small showcase display. ast forward to 1979 when after ten years in New York and a few very severe winters, the Bruck family decided to pack up all their jewelry inventory, throw away their winter coats and move to South Florida, where Selman, Elsa and Eli Bruck opened Four Star Jewelry in what was then Broward County's first Jewelry Exchange. In addition to the retail jewelry and the hand engraving, they added machine engraving, custom designing, diamond setting and model making. The business was growing nicely when in 1982, a middle of the night explosion in a nearby restaurant damaged the Jewelry Exchange building. The Brucks, together with a few other merchants of the jewelry exchange got together, built and moved into their present location at the American Jewelry and Diamond Exchange, where presently Elsa and Eli, continue doing business and making lifetime customers and friends. Selman passed away in 2005 but the family continues with his vision of offering beautiful jewelry at reasonable prices, repairs, engraving, custom designing and always taking the time to know the customer and providing personal attention and service.
