In 1993, two young girls met through fairly random circumstances. The next twenty years prepared them for what is now Four One Designs.   In those twenty years, they went to school, ran showrooms, designed homes, hotels, restaurants, and eventually worked simultaneously for a prestigious interior design firm that would take them from Miami to far away places—all along the way gaining the experience needed to embark on the journey of business ownership. Since 2013, Kathleen Klock Mendez and Mary Matos-Lacasa have been creating environments as unique and diverse as the places they’ve been and the people they’ve met. In doing so, they have established a unique style that is unencumbered yet warm, sophisticated yet playful, and vibrant while restrained--much like their respective personalities.
