FOTO KONBIT, INC., established in 2010 by a collaborative effort of Haitian and American photographers, artists, and educators, operates from Miami, FL. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing photographic and computer training while empowering students to finance their education through photography. Notably engaged with communities across Haiti, FOTO KONBIT serves over one hundred students across nine locations, currently actively working in five communities: the agricultural town of Camp Perrin, the fishing village of Labadie, and educational centers in Jacmel and Cap Haitien, alongside weekly photo classes at the Centre d'Art in Port-au-Prince. Since 2011, a distinct project launched with ten adults from Labadie involves documenting local life and historical sites to produce income through the sale of photographic gift cards to tourists. Children’s programs in Jacmel and Cap Haitien focus on capturing imagery of historical architecture and community documentation for educational fund generation.
