Founded in 2010 by a team of Haitian and American photographers, artists, and educators, FOTO KONBIT, INC., makes its home base in Miami, FL. As a nonprofit organization, it's committed to offering both photography and computer skills training, enabling students to fund their education through creative work. The group proudly serves over 100 students scattered across nine locations, focusing their efforts on five active communities: the vibrant agricultural community of Camp Perrin, the coastal fishing village of Labadie, and educational hubs in Jacmel, Cap Haitien, plus ongoing photo workshops at Port-au-Prince’s esteemed Centre d'Art. Since 2011, an innovative project with ten individuals from Labadie takes advantage of local life and historical sites to craft photographic gift cards sold to tourists as a source of income. Meanwhile, the youthful participants in Jacmel and Cap Haitien projects capture snapshots of historic buildings and community events that help fund educational initiatives. As a Florida Domestic Non-Profit Corporation (DOMNP), FOTO KONBIT is officially incorporated since March 28, 2010, with its office located at 12555 Biscayne Blvd., #926, Miami, FL, 33181.
