Company Background Fortress Solutions was founded in 2002 to address the need for high quality, multi-vendor repairs of telecommunications equipment for telephone carriers. Today, Fortress Solutions has grown into a global provider of services to the information and communication technology industry, including equipment repair, global logistics, and managed and professional services. In 2015, Fortress Solutions acquired Restor Telecom of Leesburg, FL. The combination of Fortress and Restor enabled the company to become the second largest telecom equipment repair supplier in the global market. The global market for the telecom equipment repair supplier market is expected to reach $508 million in 2015 and grow to $527 million in 2016 according to Greg Collins of Restor Telecom was founded in 1982 by John Somerville and co-founders. Fortress Solutions was founded in 2002 and was acquired by Galatyn Equity Partners and Vspeed Capital in 2012. Upon this acquisition, Brendon Mills and Brian Alton joined the company as CEO and CFO respectively. In 2015, Fortress Solutions acquired Restor Telecom with John Somerville, Lisa Somerville, and Grant Davis continuing on with the combined company. Josh Orender is the Chief Technology Officer for Fortress Solutions and has served in this capacity since 2008. With more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Orender has extensive knowledge of supply chain economics and telecommunication service activation and support. Prior to joining Fortress Solutions, Mr Orender held leadership positions at several leading service providers including Williams Communications, WilTel, Level 3, Citynet, and Zayo Bandwidth. Mr. Orender has led cross functional teams to facilitate successful post-merger integrations and has been recognized for continued success in strategic analysis of product portfolios and development of support programs for diverse customer bases including enterprise, utilities, manufacturers and dervice providers. Mr. Orender is an active member of the Plano Business Alliance, Texas Telephone association, Global Telecommunication Carriers Association, and the CEO & C-Level Executive Network. Mr. Orender holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Communications from Oklahoma State University. Dan Walsh is the Chief Operating Officer of Fortress Solutions. Dan oversees the daily operation of the company’s business units including Hardware Repair, Logistics, Customer Support Services, and Sales Operations. Dan is a 27-year technology industry senior management veteran, primarily based in Silicon Valley where he has led several technical and business areas within numerous large and small technology companies including software engineering, product management operations, and customer service. Dan joined Fortress Solutions from RGB Networks where he served as the Vice President, Customer Services. Dan had joined RGB through the acquisition of Rip Code, Inc. where he served as Vice President of Operations and was responsible for the company’s manufacturing, customer support, professional services and information technology. Driven by his commitment to success, Walsh leads Fortress Solutions business operations with customer-focused innovation, delivering unmatched dedication to serving the needs of the Fortress Solutions rapidly growing customer base. Prior to Rip Code, Walsh was Vice President of Operations for Linux Networx, with responsibility for product management, manufacturing, quality and information technology. Before joining Linux Networx, Walsh held the position of Vice President of Solution Management for Advanced Data Exchange, where he led the company’s product management, engineering, customer service and network operations teams. He has also served as Vice President of Operations and Professional Services at E-Stamp and held technology management positions at Visa International and Kraft Foods. Walsh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Technology and Operations from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Grant Davis is the Vice President of Strategic Account Development. Prior to Fortress Solutions, Mr. Davis served as Executive VP of Development for Restor Telecom Inc before Restor was acquired by Fortress Solutions. Grant Davis has 30 years of telecommunication experience in Sales and Marketing of CDMA/TDMA/GSM/IDEN, subscriber equipment and accessories, semiconductor components, infrastructure to wireless service providers and OEMs. He brings to Restor a strong background of senior relationships with key decision makers within the communications industry and has a proven track record of success to identify and grow a new customer base and/or opportunities. Mr. Davis is a graduate of Arizona State University. Prior to joining Fortress Solutions, Mr. Uhr held various leadership roles within the OEM and contract manufacturing industries. As an initial employee at , Mr. Uhr led the dual supplier strategy for the company, which included qualifying and managing all contract manufacturing, printed circuit board suppliers and fabricated sheet metal suppliers.
