Forensic Construction Consulting is an investigative company dedicated to analyzing and assisting in the resolution of building failures.
Our company, has been providing solutions to complex building issues and consulting for building owners, developers, construction companies, attorneys and insurance companies for over a decade.
The brain-child of construction guru Craig Kobza, Forensic Construction Consulting was established in 2001. Kobza, who has more than 35 years of experience in specialty construction and who was already running a custom home building, remodeling, and commercial construction company decided to apply his expertise to construction forensics. Kobza found in case-after-case and issue-after-issue, that it was difficult for clients, homeowners, building owners – even attorneys and insurance personnel – to truly understand their construction issues and move forward in a clear direction on cases and projects where something had gone wrong.
Kobza’s other enterprise – The Aerial Companies – a high end commercial and residential construction firm, that at one point had more than 200 employees on staff and and has worked on more than $500 million dollars in construction projects– is a vital part of our process at Forensic Construction Consulting. Our ties to The Aerial Companies and our other development companies allows us to continually stay out ahead of current building codes, trends, and loop in the most current subject matter experts.
To date, Forensic Construction Consulting has successfully resolved more than $70 million worth of construction defect cases, with issues ranging from the tens of thousands to tens of millions of dollars. No matter your project size, we can help you understand what happened from a construction perspective, properly inform the correct parties (attorneys, contractors and insurance companies) to help resolve your issue.
Craig is owner and principal consultant of Forensic Construction Consulting. His 30-plus years of experience in specialty construction, building restoration, remediation, structural strengthening and repair have provided Craig with the knowledge and expertise needed to apply his forensic analysis skills in construction. He provides litigation support for counsel in construction defect cases and insurance claims, and serves as an expert witness during the litigation process. Craig is a state certified general contractor.
Gretchen’s experience as a litigation coordinator is an asset to FCC. After earning her bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Florida, Gretchen worked for a law firm in Naples, Fl. During her years with the firm, Gretchen oversaw the intricacies of bringing a case to trial, including retaining and working with expert witnesses, managing lay witnesses and the presentation of evidence against each responsible party and their respective insurers. The knowledge Gretchen gained from her previous employment enables her to prepare cases for trial and arbitration at FCC.
