OUR MISSION The Florida Skunk Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non profit corporation, operated totally by volunteers. We are dedicated to fostering and finding homes for domestic skunks in Florida who can no longer be cared for in their current situation. When funds are available we also help skunk owners faced with emergency medical care for their skunk if it poses a burden to their finances. Our current goal is to raise enough money to set up an separate fund just for emergency medical situations. Our dedicated rescue workers, all holding current Florida Conservation Commission Class III Permits, are located throughout Florida. In most cases the skunk can be picked up the same day as we receive notification. Contact numbers are listed at the bottom of this page and on our Rescue Help page. Through our extensive nationwide network, skunks located outside of Florida can often also be found adoptive homes. The Florida Skunk Rescue is not a shelter. We do not warehouse rescues. All skunks rescued by Florida Skunk Rescue are kept in a licensed private home until a suitable new home can be found. , or going to our permit page and clicking on the link provided.
