- Florida Karate Clubs participate in this event and won over 50 medals. These medals in conjunction with medals won by USA members from others schools helped the USA achieve the greatest number of gold medals in the tournament. As a result, USA, for the first time in history won the Pan American Championships. Florida Karate Clubs has participated in every National Championship since the year 2004 with a very large amount of competitors each year, for more than a decade, our school has trained over 100 National Champions and is recognized as one of the top producers of Karate Champions in the nation. – Florida Karate Clubs and its Athletes were recognized by the Governor of Florida Rick Scott as a great supporter of the development of Karate in the State of Florida. – In 2012, Florida Karate Clubs and Miami Tai Kai were recognized by Commissioner Francis Suarez for holding the Miami Tai Kai as an event of a great importance for Miami, Florida. – In 2017, City of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, recognized Florida Karate Clubs for its contribution to athletics in the city of Doral Great workout which helps you stay in shape. Florida Karate Clubs was founded in 2003, in the city of Southwest Ranches, Florida, under its original name Asaka Dojo. When Sensei Luis Sanchez at the young age of 24, decided to follow his dream of teaching karate to students of all ages and open the doors of our 1st school in Broward County. Since then, the dojo has over 180 active students training weekly. Our students have traveled around the world representing Team USA in Pan American and World Championships. Today, Florida Karate Clubs has 3 locations, one in Southwest Ranches, another at Divine Savior Academy in Doral, and the 3rd school was recently opened in the city of Doral. Fifty of our students have earned their black belts. Most of them remain training and teaching in our facilities. Florida Karate Clubs has been a positive influence in the lives of many of its students, teaching them the values of Karate Do: perseverance, discipline and hard work.
