At Transformus my husband and I were recruited by “Big Daddy” to do the “Rockstar” volunteer dinner for Afterburn. Which we have done it ever since. In “06” Storm ask me to be a founding member, and help her to start the first Florida Regional, Burnt Oranges inc. When “Big Daddy” move he gifted us Afterburn and we have been doing both events ever since. I have cooked the volunteer dinner, served on the BOD as Secretary, I have served as head of the Art Grant committee for 2 years. I am co founder of the Hookah Lounge theme camp. We have started the volunteer dinner for Serendipity & Love Burn. I volunteer for the DMV for Burning man, Rangers at Love Burn, trained as Event Coordinator at Serendipity, did virgin orientation at Storm Shelter several years. Have participated in the South Eastern Leadership Summit.
We have been feeling the need along with the community to start another event that is more community driven, with a stronger focus on spreading our philanthropy in the larger art community, outside the “Burn Community”. We have heard people in our community over the last few years express their wants and desire and have found that the best, only way to achieve all of our goals is to start fresh with another regional in North Florida. It is our dream to do a kid friendly, diverse event. We have volunteers, leadership from all over the country help us to achieve our event. It is our hope that by bringing Burners from all over together will give everyone a true sense of the Burning Man community and spirit.
to celebrate art, music, and community with a family friendly all-inclusive collective ethos. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and fun environment where everyone is accepted. A shared philosophy permeates every aspect of our culture. This ethos is the living heart of our community, our conscience, and our collective memory. Outlined in the Ten Principles but more fully revealed in our actions, it informs all that we do. For our culture to survive and flourish we must continually work to nourish these core values. We refer to this ongoing mission of stewardship and scholarship as the Philosophical Center.
Our community respects the environment. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than when we found them.
Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart.
