He received his undergraduate degree in History in 1973, where he was elected President of the Student Senate. He attended Duke University School of Law in 1973/74 and graduated from Ohio State University�s School of Law in 1976, becoming a member of the Bar that same year. He moved to Florida in 1984, and is married to the former Jan Strumer. They have one daughter. Since 2005, Marty has practiced law, served as a business consultant while he and his wife have continued to conduct their book business from the internet and specialty convention bookshops around the Country.
