Florida Adoption Center LLC – Adoption Agency The Florida Adoption Center is a located in Melbourne, FL offering services to every member of the adoption triad, Birth Parents, Adoptive Parents, and Child. Our philosophy is to treat each person with dignity and respect. Our services to adoptive parents include home study services, pre-adoption training, birth mother matching, adoption placement, post-placement supervision and post adoption support. Our friendly Adoption Agency welcomes adoptive parents, with home studies through other agencies, who would like to place their names and profiles on our list of waiting families. We believe in networking with partner agencies to better serve our clients and shorten waiting times, and actively encourage our waiting families to do the same. We are all about serving the best interests of our clients. , which is why we are committed to providing education on bonding and attachment, risk and protective factors, child development. Carrie Thomas and Andrea Betting, have both worked in helping professions for many years, and were brought together by their passion for adoption. They share a conviction that all parties in an adoption should be treated with compassion, empathy and respect. Their goal is to support Birth Mother’s experiencing a Crisis Pregnancy by giving them choices and supporting them in their decision, whether it be to parent or make a Personalized Adoption Plan. Carrie and Andrea recognizing the need for an adoption agency with wraparound services which includes, support, education, resources, and empathy, formed the Florida Adoption Center LLC. Carrie and Andrea share a passion for Adoption, and for helping others. They are known for their compassion, honesty, and integrity. They also share a joy for life and a sense of fun! Carrie Thomas, MS., has a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Carrie has lived in Brevard County since 1980, and has provided social services since 1994. Carrie, mother to a grown daughter also has personal experience with foster care as she is currently foster Mom to two orphaned boys. Carrie has specialized experience in: Family Strengthening, providing behavioral modification and behavioral analysis services in the home, school and community settings; Adoption/Foster Care Home Studies within Alternative Family Care and Therapeutic Foster Care Services, and within private Adoption Program settings. In addition, Carrie has experience in Substance Abuse Services, and Homelessness. Andrea Betting, L.C.S.W., has both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Social Work. She is licensed through the State of Florida as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and is a trained Hypnotherapist. Andrea has experience as a Medical Social Worker providing Crisis Interventions, and Psychosocial Care utilizing advanced psychosocial skills to facilitate and coordinate care through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and referrals. Andrea has experience with Adoptions in the hospital environment and well as within the private adoption setting. Andrea has been a Domestic Violence Advocate since 2007 and has worked as an Emergency Financial Services provider for a local charity organization.
