Shawn has been working with computers since 1992. As a kid he would get his dad’s old computers to tinker with. He was 12 or 13 when he really started to take interest and realized he was excelling at working with computers and technology. Naturally he would go to UCF for a degree in Engineering Technology, where he met James. He loves working at Firewall because every day he is presented new challenges. We were able to advise the best overall solution as to broadband connection, firewall, router, networking equipment, wireless, upgraded workstations, additional file server, security procedures, battery backups and a disaster recovery plan. We also provided full network documentation for the ability to find and solve problems quickly to minimize downtime. Firewall Computer Services was able to help a local leading law firm decide on the best cloud software to make their business run more efficiently while giving their clients a better experience. The cloud software chosen gave the ability to customers of our client to update their personal information, review, and track progress of their case without contacting our client’s employees reducing their workload and overhead. Firewall Computer Services was able to help an existing service based client in Casselberry replace their existing slow and unreliable tape backup system with a combination of onsite and offsite technologies to provide a complete disaster recovery plan. Our client has already used the system to recover accidentally deleted Microsoft Excel files and they feel safe knowing that in an event of a hurricane (water damage) their data is available offsite. A current client of Firewall Computer Services was receiving an increasing amount of spam and virus attached emails that were effecting employee productivity and causing downtime. We were able to quickly configure their domain email MX records to pass through the anti-spam service filters to quarantine unwanted messages and the system was active within a couple of hours. Firewall Computer Services was able to implement a secure mixed Apple iPhone and BlackBerry server environment for a service based client in Maitland consisting of ten BlackBerrys and seven iPhones. Wireless device management was configured to enable the business to remotely wipe the data from any of the devices in the case of employee termination or theft. This enabled the client to store sensitive but required data on the phone while feeling reassured the confidential information was safe. Wireless syncing of emails, calendar and contacts also was configured for their mobile workforce to have instant access to all important data while away from the office. An insurance company based in Lake Mary contracted Firewall Computer Services to replace the LCD screens in their 50 user business. We replaced bad and broken inverters, CCFL LCD backlight bulbs and cracked screens for their mobile workforce. The turnaround was quick and each LCD screen was fixed the first time. A Winter Park based insurance company came to Firewall Computer Services with continual spyware and virus infections. Employees were opening emails and running attachments they shouldn’t, running “free” programs obtained from questionable websites, visiting websites that actively distribute spyware and bringing in outside infected files on the network.
