Company Leadership Fifty Four 17 is under the leadership of Mr. Howard Hudson who serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Hudson has over three decades of industry experience successfully demonstrating business leadership, market growth, new business capture, execution management with P&L responsibility, portfolio shaping, technology development, and product development. Prior to his current position with Fifty Four 17, Mr. Hudson was a business executive for a Global Top 100 aerospace and defense company serving as Vice President - Business Development of a major operating division for over 11 years. In this role he was directly responsible for pursuit and capture of new business, leading new business ventures, executing corporate initiatives, collaborating on cross division joint domestic and international projects, driving market growth, steering adjacent market penetration, and leading new technology development. During the 20 plus years preceding this position, Mr. Hudson held several positions with P&L responsibility, program and project management, engineering management, systems design, development and operational testing, and manufacturing planning and oversight. He has direct business experience with markets and customer sets in the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Mr. Hudson has led significant new business wins creating multi-million dollar potential revenue streams in addition to leading business activities resulting in follow-on business awards and management of customer relationships. His new business wins have included a number of game changing "fly-wheel" programs establishing sustainable long term business; driving business model transformations and operational process shifts. His global market experience and support of diverse product portfolios and customer sets has required business and technology innovation to achieve success. Mr. Hudson is a problem solver. He has acquired unique skills for thought leadership and strategy assessment that bring value to clients. Mr. Hudson has a sharp ability to perceive and analyze weak signals in the market and business operations providing identification of risks and opportunities as well as identification of key discriminators. Mr. Hudson has cross domain industry experience in aviation, aircraft systems, avionics, defense electronics, platform systems, building systems, energy, engineered products, and services including development, qualification, integration and after-market support activities. As a technical leader and experienced engineer, Mr. Hudson has analyzed and solved multiple problems related to product development, product performance, technology, and processes. Prior to his years in corporate business, Mr. Hudson also worked for the U. S. Navy - Naval Air Systems Command Engineering Support Office - NAS Pensacola as a cognizant engineer supporting fleet operations and maintenance activities at the organizational, intermediate, and depot levels for Navy aircraft. This scope included maintenance, repair and overhaul procedure development, mishap investigations, systems and component engineering failure analysis, design of upgrade modifications and airframe changes, and manufacturing process improvement changes. Mr. Hudson holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of West Florida focused in finance with emphasis on venture management. He simultaneously earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Alabama. Mr. Hudson's engineering strength is in Dynamic Systems and Controls with extensive experience in electro-mechanical systems design. His biology degree is concentrated in Medical Sciences and additional coursework resulted in attainment of a minor equivalent in psychology. Mr. Hudson is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and also maintains an Advanced Building Code Special Qualification.
