Founded in 1954 by local cowboys and their families, the Fellsmere Riding Club is a not-for-profit organization situated on a 28-acre property in Fellsmere, FL. The club has played an integral role in the community by hosting the annual Cracker Day Rodeo each first Sunday of March since 1955, attracting spectators who arrive to watch from their trucks and tailgates. Over the years, they have continuously developed their facilities; noteworthy upgrades include new bucking chutes purchased in the mid-1980s, a concession stand and cook shack, and the construction of grandstands in the early 1990s. In the late 1990s, a new paneled arena was established. The proceeds from events at Fellsmere Riding Club are allocated towards insurance, taxes, community events for families and children, as well as supporting local youth organizations like 4H and recreation departments, alongside charitable institutions such as St. Jude’s.
