Call Fabulous owner, George Haddad, to get the finer details and visit our space at the 36th Annual Florida Chapter NCRS Winter Meet, January 22-25, 2014 in Kissimmee, Florida when all the cool Fabulous Corvettes make the scene. Fabulous Restorations Fabulous owner, George Haddad was greeted by Bill Tower, Tom Hill, Dave McLellan and Ken Kayser, Motor City's finest engineers who were part of the team originally responsible for making the Corvette what it is today. They were impressed to see a meticulous, integrated application of aerodynamic components on the FC 6 and knocked out by the modest choice of supercharger to complement the ample stock power plant; after all, they helped invent the 'tickle of thrust'. Gloating over the modified interior, the plush seating and leather appointments gave them satisfaction that driving would provide luxurious neck-snapping pleasure. You could tell their desire was to get behind the wheel to feel the real deal. It is because of these few FC 6 subtleties that one might wind up in critical care and possibly so. Play it safe, George and his Fabulous Team offer driving lessons. The older we get the friendlier we are to ourselves. This is perhaps a motivating factor for the Fabulous Team to build a long lost race car … Tony DeLorenzo’s, “Hot Commodity”… The Owens Corning #6 Corvette that raced in 1970 at Daytona. There’s significant history behind the recreation of this vehicle, so fittingly George Haddad got up with Corvette race car driver and owner of the #7 Owens Corning race car, Jerry Thompson, who offered several choice tidbits of technical information relevant to authenticity. Also, former Corvette race car driver, Cliff Gottlob, provided his take on component parts used in the day. Fabulous Restorations is committed to the accurate preservation of this race Car and it is fundamental company priority to consult with essential people. Subsequently, Dave Miller, owner of a ’68 LT 2 built by Werner Meier, Tom Langdon and Gib Hufstader, persuaded George to speak with Werner for genuine, proper information concerning the #6. And the build goes on! Many thanks to Registry of Corvette Race Cars owner, Jan Hyde, who helped provide historic information and photos. Achievement may be anonymous as many great things have been done by people you've never heard of, however Fabulous Restorations is fueled by Zora Duntov's dream and direction for the GM flagship, an unblemished example of true potential. Go in confidence with proper improvements, performance and uncompromising perfection. Let us create a hand-crafted Fabulous Corvette for you. Within the pages of this website you'll see some important people who know our racing endeavors and they too share respect for Zora's commitment to Corvette racing. However, our knowledge in building period correct race cars is only a fraction of this business. Above all else, Fabulous Restorations is dedicated to NCRS top-flight standards, and the rarest of rare cars that are being worked on in our shop. grew up in The Motor City, Detroit, Michigan … a perfect place to satisfy one’s passion for cars. While in college George worked for Chrysler’s Lynch Road Assembly Plant. Here he learned how automobiles were built. Ultimately he became interested in collector car restoration and charted a course to South Florida where he opened Fabulous Finishes in 1974. The company started out in the body work business specializing in Corvette painting and refinishing, body repair, structural analysis, fiberglass repair and reconditioning. Today, Fabulous Restorations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has evolved in many ways and to a level of high regard as a National Corvette Restorers Society Member. George’s team forms a special group of master technicians who are humbled by their own top flight restorations and impeccable workmanship and they seriously say, ‘car craziness is a fabulous state of mind.’
