Everglades Outpost, Inc., originally founded as Everglades Wildlife Refuge in 1993 by Bob and Barbara Freer, is a non-profit organization based in Homestead, Florida. This 501(c)(3) educational group has one main goal: to rescue, care for, and rehabilitate wildlife that's injured or been mistreated, particularly those seized from illegal operations. When possible, the Outpost releases these animals back into their natural environments. However, if an animal can't survive in the wild, they find a loving home either on-site at Everglades Outpost or elsewhere.
