First of all let me say, we are not a ‘kennel’ and certainly not a puppy mill.  We are a private family who has pets of superior quality and we sell pups which are of the same distinction.  Our dogs are considered family members as well and they are pampered in the comfort of the home. They sleep with our children.  We do not have a ‘kennel’ or ‘dog run’ on the property.  We constructed a 3600 square foot recreation patio, wide-open expanse with oak trees and open air pavillion.  These accomodations not only eliminate kennels or runs -- it allows our dogs room to interact, run, and play safe from exposure to snakes, fleas, rodents and all those other wonderful things Florida has to offer -- alligators!!! Our dogs are not exposed to any ‘non pedigree’ animals or situations whereby they could contract parasites or other communicable maladies which are not necessarily protected by vaccination.  Absolutely no visits to pet stores or dog parks. Nor do we allow non-Evans dogs on the ranch. They are never exposed to problems/habits associated with kennels.  Our puppies are raised in our living room on blankets with continuous human touch and sibling play. Our yards are meticulously picked up after each outdoor excursion.  Our dogs all have championship pedigrees.  We have also trained/competed in agility and have obtained AKC Championship titles in the sport. I think I can safely say if we are a puppy mill...the world needs more of them! Quite an order.Thankfully, we were successful. Our vetenarian of nearly 15 years, Dr. Streseman, commented to me recently, “Debbie, I’ve had a lot of customers in my career, including those who breed dogs, but I’ve never seen dogs as healthy as yours.  What is your secret?”  I don’t consider it a ‘secret’.  We were diligent in our search, as well as relentless. We looked everywhere, interviewed countless breeders and scrutinized for pedigree, health, disposition and insisted on notable championship lineage. We toured the Midwest, traveled to the eastern states (famous for quality miniatures), traveled to Blackwitch Kennel in Michigan, and even ventured into Canada.  We looked long and hard for over a year before settling where we did on our selections. God blessed us. We have been breeding for 16 years now.  Remarkably, we have, to date, experienced none of the maladies common to the schnauzer breed, e.g., schnauzer bumps, seizure disorder, diabetes, pancreatitis, kidney disease, cataracts or cancer. That is rare.  Our line of miniature schnauzers are reputed (and rightfully so) to be one of the strongest and healthiest in the country. They are as close to genetic perfection as is possible. It is important to note, that bucks the current trend of rather indiscriminate breeding and the unfortunate results we are seeing.  Miniature Schnauzers are becoming increasingly viewed as less than a healthy breed. It is not the breed, it is the breeding.  Discriminate and do the research. he Miniature Schnauzer is undoubtedly one of the best choices for perfect pet. Known for charm and personality the mini-schnauzer also has patience x 10, a perfect model for children's imagination, glorified by doll dresses, sunglasses and hats. The miniature schnauzer is the most popular of the terrier breed and owners can give scores of reasons why. Of German origin, the miniature is a cross of the Standard Schnauzer and the Affenpinscher. Their intelligence is superb as evidenced by remarkable speed in training -- obedience, agility or practically anything you devote the time to. Confirmation standards have a 14" shoulder height limit and around 15 lbs is an ideal weight. Colors range from salt and pepper to black with silver to solid black. The Miniature Schnauzer does not shed--period--and dander emission is so low as to make this breed a good choice for people with allergies. The Miniature Schnauzer is highly devoted to its family and will reliably guard the home. Grooming every couple months is the only maintenance required for this perfect pet with so many attributes.
