Steve Hettick has over 23 years of professional experience in the FRP Industry with Ershigs having previously served as Engineering Manager, General Manager and VP, Manufacturing Operations. He is responsible for five manufacturing facilities and Ershigs’ field construction business and is very involved in Ershigs’ research into new applications for FRP in the production of alternative energy. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, and an MBA from East Carolina University.
In his role as Vice President, Engineering and General Manager of Ershigs’ Ridgefield Operations, Eric Schumacher manages the policies, practices and personnel related to Engineering, EH&S, Quality and Field Contracts and oversees the daily operations of our Ridgefield, WA facility. He has over 40 years of industrial FRP/Composite experience and joined Ershigs through acquisition in 1997 as the General Manager of the Ershigs-Biloxi manufacturing facility (formerly GL&V/LaValley) now located in Grand Bay, AL. Eric attended Oregon State University and holds an AA in Engineering Technology from Clark Community College.
As Vice President for Ershigs, Chaun Trenary’s responsibilities include directing the Marketing and Sales efforts. Chaun Trenary also serves in the same role for Denali Incorporated companies, Belco Manufacturing and Fabricated Plastics. He has over 27 years of professional experience in the FRP Industry with Ershigs. He earned a BS in Industrial Technology, Plastics and an MBA from Western Washington University.
As General Manager of Ershigs’ Field Operations, Shawn Burns responsibilities include management of Ershigs’ Field Construction and Service Division. Shawn has over 30 years of FRP construction experience. He joined Ershigs in 1991 and has filled the roles of Superintendent, Production Manager, Project Manager and Construction Manager before assuming his current position.
As General Manager of Ershigs’ Bellingham and Sheet Metal Operations, Steve Guay oversees the daily operations of our Bellingham, WA facility. He has 17 years of FRP experience and previously served as a Contract Administrator, Contacts Manager, and Purchasing Manager. In addition to managing the Bellingham site, Steve also oversees operations of our sister-company, Fabricated Plastics located in Maple, Ontario. He has a BS in Business Administration, an AS in Human Resource Management and an AS in Information Processing.
As General Manager of Ershigs’ Grand Bay Operations, Todd Markham oversees the daily operations of our Grand Bay, AL facility. He has over 21 years of FRP construction experience with Ershigs and previously served as a Field Foreman, Field Superintendent, Site Manager, and Production Manager before assuming his current position.
Ershigs Provides FRP Composite Tower for First North American Offshore Wind Turbine
Bellingham, WA June 11, 2013 – Ershigs, Inc., division of Denali Incorporated, provided a 1/8th scale fiberglass composite tower for launch last week into the Penobscot River near Brewer Maine. The 65 foot tall turbine prototype named “VoturnUS 1:8” is the first offshore, grid connected floating wind turbine deployed off the coast of North America. Ershigs is one of 30 industrial members of the team, led by University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center, that participated in a launch ceremony on May 31st. The VolturnUS 1:8 is a scale model of a full sized 6 megawatt (MW) turbine with a 423-foot rotor diameter design on top of a 270-foot high fiberglass composite tower.
