Bernardo T. Fernandes is a senior expert on the independent power business with over 35 years of practice in the electrical sector throughout numerous regions of the world. Bernardo has promoted creative ventures across five continents and contributed significantly to the launching of privatized electrical sectors in both Europe and Latin America. In the 1980’s, Bernardo developed his first private generation project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has since added over two dozen independent power projects, using gas-fired combined cycle, hydro and wind turbines, to his achievements. His experience in project financing, bolstered by his broad experience serving as an advisor to several major investment banks, combined with contract negotiations and risk assessment skills, offer solid support for Enventure’s project development activities. Bernardo has raised significant amounts of debt and equity for facilities in operation and under construction and has revived countless stalled projects through his creative financial structuring. The portfolio of financial closings where he has taken a lead role exceeds USD$8 billion. Bernardo performs a range of other professional services including global business development and marketing activities. In addition, he has extensive involvement in legal, regulatory and contractual matters. Beyond his professional achievements, another facet of his distinguished career entails the training of other professionals through his role as a university lecturer, seminar instructor and speaker at business conferences around the globe. His fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French, in conjunction with his professional experience throughout the world, afford Bernardo a rare cultural perspective and serve as a base from which Enventure can promote and expand its international horizon. Carlos J. Pinto is a managing partner of Enventure Partners as well as a seasoned corporate and project finance executive with extensive business development experience. Carlos has led the development of power projects throughout Latin America under traditional non-recourse Project Finance principals. His structuring expertise leads him to take a principal role in all definitive project documents such as EPCs, PPAs, O&Ms, fuel supply agreements, loan agreements, shareholders agreements etc. Carlos is principally responsible for capital raising and financial structuring. His experience spans thermal, wind and hydropower generation projects throughout the US, Latin American, Caribbean, European and African markets. Carlos has held senior positions with several large strategic and financial firms and assumed the principal role of managing many projects from development through commercial implementation and operation. Carlos began his career in the power industry as an assistant vice president with Scudder Latin American Power (now known as Conduit Capital, LLC), a private equity fund investing in independent power projects in Latin America and the Caribbean with funds committed by the International Finance Corporation and other public and private multi-national organizations. Prior to forming Enventure Partners, Carlos served as the managing director of mergers and acquisitions for AT&T Latin America. Pedro Cardoso is a senior consultant with Enventure Partners focused on power generation, private equity opportunities in Latin America. Originally from Portugal, Pedro has extensive renewable energy ain global markets including Brazil, Africa, and the Middle East as evidenced by his former position as CEO of Aeolus Wind. During his impressive career Pedro has worked for several prestigious equity investors including GE Capital and Sonae Portugal in both project and corporate finance. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Levante Energy Partners, an equity investor focused on South Africa and Latin America. Pedro is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Samuel Gomez spent eleven years at Conduit Capital Partners in New York, a private equity firm specializing in energy investments in Latin America and the Caribbean, where he was a Partner, CFO and an Investment Manager. Prior to Conduit, Mr. Gomez was an Equity Research Analyst covering Latin American utilities, infrastructure and consumer goods for Schroder’s, Santander Investments, Prudential Securities and Lehman Brothers. Mr. Gomez started his career as a statistician at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He has lived in Colombia and Peru and is fluent in Spanish and conversant in Portuguese. Mr. Gomez is an experienced Private Equity, Project Finance, and Equity Research professional with a proven track record with regards to analyzing, structuring, financing, developing and managing projects in energy infrastructure. Throughout his career, Mr. Gomez has been involved as a Partner in the creation, set up, fund raising, investing and liquidating of several emerging markets energy-infrastructure funds. He has also provided consulting services to energy-infrastructure projects and institutional investors in the financing, structuring and development of projects in Latin America and has advised clients in all aspects of fund raising, investing and the development of their projects, including but not limited to: strategic planning, organizational structuring, environmental management, social or community relations, equity financing, long-term debt, regulation, obtaining of concessions, permits and licenses. Mr. Gomez holds a double-major B.S. degree in Finance and International Business from New York University with a Minor in Spanish. Bernardo T.
