El Tablazo Restaurant was founded by a young and aspiring Entrepreneur, Luz Elena Cano, and her father, Jair Cano. The name of the restaurant derives from the small neighborhood “El Tablazo,” located in Medellin, Colombia, which is where the family is originally from. The restaurant is owned and operated by the family, and to this day, still provides the most authentic and typical Colombian food to its local and international customers alike. Many of the infusions and flavors derive from family recipes, which were originally customized for the restaurant by the head chef and great aunt to Ms. Cano; most customers refer to her as, “La Tia.” At El Tablazo Restaurant, we are all about our family, our traditions and fusing both of those ideals with an exceptional and authentic culinary experience. For years tourists have made us a part of their vacations and trips to Miami. A tradition that followed was that many of the tourists who loved their experience at our restaurant wrote us letters thanking us for being a great part of their trip, and that they wanted us to put up a bill or a coin from their country! We now have hundreds of different international bills on our walls framed all from customers who wanted to contribute to the El Tablazo Restaurant’s decor!
