About Ed Reid Ed Reid was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and became a petrochemical salesman for Exxon. He later served as a worldwide consultant for the petrochemical industry. In 1989 Ed began selling real estate and enjoys showing newcomers the city he appreciates so much, as well as helping long-time Santa Feans find the perfect home. After being in Santa Fe a while, he began to learn more about adobe architecture, taking a class at one point, called “Earth and Timbers,” offered by Recursos de Santa Fe. It was at this point that he and his wife Ellen Bradbury Reid, (who happens to be the executive director of Recursos de Santa Fe) began buying and renovating adobe homes. The first house they renovated was their own, a very old adobe with three foot thick walls in some places, near the Guadalupe Church, next to the Santa Fe River.
