View Whether engaging governments and others with the power to make positive changes that will protect marine life from exploitation and cruelty, or being on location with our crack missions team, ‘The Operatives’, providing assistance to countries facing severe threats such as poaching, we work hard to keep the oceans healthy. Healthy oceans are critical to the survival of all species in the sea and on land. "Conservation is uniting people in a similar way; however, the sense of belonging and contribution is much stronger. People are willing to sacrifice much more in support of their tribe. Further to this, their tribe is one of many sub-tribes making up the conservation movement in general. So all the conservation groups, including Earthrace, are all sub-tribes with converging values and ideals, and together we make up a very considerable tribe that is a growing and mobile force around the globe." Morgan was originally captured under a ‘rescue, rehabilitation & release’ permit, and as such a robust plan was formulated by leading scientists, trainers and conservationists to return her to her family. However, the captivity industry saw Morgan’s worth to them for their captive breeding program and they are doing all that they can to keep her, despite her obvious signs of stress and the fact that the other orca at ‘Loro Parque’ bully and harass her. Morgan, like all orca, was not meant for captivity and doesn’t cope well there. The Free Morgan Foundation is fighting to expose this travesty and tell the world what is happening at ‘Loro Parque’. Ongoing court cases are just part of the campaign to help Morgan, but naturally the Foundation supports banning all cetaceans in captivity (and captive breeding) as well as capturing them from the wild. As a proud partner of Free Morgan Foundation, EcoJoia provides merchandise to support cetacean conservation initiatives. 25% of every sale of EcoJoia’s Free Morgan Foundation merchandise is donated directly to the Foundation. , EcoJoia provides merchandise to support conservation initiatives. 25-50% of every sale of EcoJoia’s Orca Network merchandise is donated directly to the Orca Networkt campaign. View My name is Rachel and I started Empty the Tanks in 2013 after I visited Taiji, Japan as a volunteer to help document the annual dolphin slaughters that take place there. After witnessing the horrific acts happening in the infamous Cove, I decided I wanted to take this fight to the captivity industry. I had stood in Taiji and given a voice to the dolphins who lost their lives in those waters, now I was going to give a voice to the dolphins and whales suffering in captivity all over the world. My goal was to create a campaign that could educate the general public about what captivity means to cetaceans. These annual events will allow activists to reach the public all over the world in a positive and productive way. Please join us and help get the message out. Together we can make a stand, save our oceans, and empty the tanks worldwide. © 2018 EcoJoia LLC. All Rights Reserved Izumi Ishii is a reformed Japanese dolphin hunter from the town of Futo - Shizuoka prefecture, a town with a long history of dolphin drive hunting. Ishii San was a 6th generation dolphin hunter after his grandfather and father. Seeing tears in a dolphin he killed, he decided to stop hunting and launched his whale and dolphin watching business in 2002. Futo’s dolphin hunting stopped since 2005 as a direct result of his action. Dolphin hunters say the presence of his watching business with his beloved fishing boat Kokaimaru makes it impossible for them to continue the commercial killing. Ishii San works tirelessly to convince the public, the dolphin drive hunters in Japan and the Japanese government that the dolphin drive hunting is not in tune with the rest of the world and a total ban is the only answer. He runs a symbolic dolphin & whale watching business with his boat Kokaimaru to demonstrate that the watching is the only alternative to the brutal killing of dolphins. © 2018 EcoJoia LLC.
