The organization believes that the rehabilitation of the historic 22nd Street South District will not only promote economic development, but instill a sense of pride and place among the citizens of the community. Chuck Egerter has been an active board member for four years and champions the Deuces mission to anyone within earshot on a daily basis. Collaborative is a community-focused Florida Non-Profit Corporation committed to returning the Manhattan Casino on 22nd Street in St Petersburg, FL to its former glory as the African American community’s cultural center. It’s goal is to transform this landmark into the immersive, cultural and educational landmark that celebrates music, soul food, and the heritage of the Manhattan Casino and 22nd Street South through an experience that highlights a time when over 100 African American owned businesses served this community. Chuck Egerter is currently Board Secretary and passionate about returning the Manhattan to a center piece of arts and culture in the community. is the only non-profit, open-admission animal shelter and public veterinary center in Pinellas County. The shelter in Largo cares for more than 8,000 animals annually that have been surrendered by their owners, along with injured wildlife. The organization cares for dogs, cats, pocket pets, exotic animals, and livestock like goats and pigs. Animals receive immunizations, medical care, behavior training and enrichment, and loving care while they live at the shelter. Adoptions volunteers work to match families with animals that are a good fit with the family’s home, lifestyle and personalities. There is no time limit for an animal’s stay, and every animal receives compassionate care, regardless of its breed or size. Our Senior Project Manager, Michele Egerter is a board member and passionate animal advocate. Over the past year a team of volunteers from Calvary Chapel in St Pete have partnered with the school as part of their mentoring program. The group works with teachers and students, learning what classroom needs are (books, paper, pencils, rulers, Kleenex tissues etc.) and raise money to purchase supplies. On a weekly basis volunteers meet with individual students and mentor them in reading and math. Volunteers also help teaches with tasks like printing, organizing etc. Strong healthy relationships have been created that boosted the school’s academic levels significantly!
