Founded in 2011, DxTx Telemedical was created to provide better healthcare throughout the globe. Through remote videoconferencing, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions are analyzed by well trained, board-certified doctors, giving assistance to individuals living in communities deprived of primary healthcare or to tourists flying overseas. This remote communication between a certified healthcare provider and the patient does not replace the face-to-face office visit. Rather, it serves as a safe alternative for the treatment of urgent and minor medical problems, as well as chronic medical conditions needing frequent monitoring and follow-up. It may also facilitate triage and coordination of appropriate referral for those with more serious medical conditions. Through the use of this modern videoconferencing technology, DxTx Telemedical improves the access to medical services at the primary and specialty healthcare levels. . Edgard Pereira, M.D. is the founder and CEO of DxTx Telemedical. Dr. Pereira graduated from the Federal School of Medical Sciences of Porto Alegre, Brazil, and completed his medical education at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and New York University Medical School. Before founding DxTx, Dr. Pereira co-founded the Galaxy Therapeutic, a medical device company focused in the treatment of brain aneurysms. Dr. Pereira is also the co-founder of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, where he served as officer and at the board of directors. He is the President of the Neurointerventional Clinics of Miami where he currently practices Neurointerventional Surgery. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has authored articles and book chapters in the field of Neurointervention. He brings to DxTx an extensive experience in tele-neurology and tele-stroke. New technologies have fueled the impressive growth of everyday medical practice. DxTx Telemedical firmly believes that among them, real time videoconferencing, as defined by the American Telemedicine Association, is helping to establish a paradigm shift in the doctor-patient relationship.
