DRUMMOND PRESS, INC., JACKSONVILLE

John and Alberta Drummond founded the Drummond Press in Jacksonville, Florida during 1939. In those tough economic times, John and Peaches worked tirelessly to build the business and provide for their Family. John would sell printing during the day and run the press at night. Peaches would run the press during the day and care of the children at night. In the beginning and throughout the 40’s and 50’s the company steadily grew in sales with product lines that included stationary, business forms and labels. In the early 70’s, Drummond growth was fueled after being awarded a print management contract with Seaboard Coastline, currently doing business as CSX Transportation. While maintaining its’ strength in the forms industry, the company began to aggressively increase the volume of high quality color work in the late 80’s. In the 90’s, Drummond continued to expand its’ capabilities and operations. They installed more sheet-fed equipment as well as beginning a direct mail and fulfillment division that now handles approximately 50 million pieces of mail a year. In 2006, they successfully installed the newest M110 web press in the Southeast, with significant in line finishing capabilities. Over the years Drummond’s business has been enhanced through many acquisitions. These included Hilcraft Engraving in Miami, Trade Engraving in Orlando, Douglas Printing in Jacksonville and Graphic Communications in Atlanta, GA. Over the years this business has been consolidated into plants in Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA. Today, Drummond is a leader in Managed Print Services. The strategy is to help clients achieve a higher ROI on their print services expenditures through an innovative approach that provides measured and sustainable improvements. Drummond focuses on the Total Cost of Ownership by helping remove waste from the design, procurement, manufacturing and distribution stages. Putting “ink on paper” is only a fraction of the true cost. This holistic approach identifies costs that are often hidden, such as long-distance shipping, storage, fulfillment and obsolescence. Drummond fundamentally achieves greater value by deploying Lean Six Sigma strategies, coupled with competitive bidding through a vendor agnostic model. This strategy allows for the relentless pursuit of value by streamlining processes, and creating ideal alignment with providers. The approach is proven, innovative, measured and historically saves clients 20% to 40% on these products and services. Additionally, the focus helps realize sustained savings and not just “quick hits”. Being recognized as one of the largest and fastest growing print management firms in the southeast, Drummond stays committed to delivering innovate and unique solutions to clients most difficult print service needs. Drummond is owned by Mrs. Diane Falconetti, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Drummond and John Falconetti, her son. John represents Drummond’s third generation leader serving as Chairman and CEO of the business. Whether we are starting a new project from scratch or assessing an existing program, we start with a “clean slate” approach, working our way from the ground up with an eye for efficiencies, economies and better solutions. This way, our team is able to leverage our considerate experience and leading-edge technology to create the best process possible for your project, regardless of how it was performed historically. We offer a suite of services designed to provide the most efficient and economical solutions that meet all of your needs from start to finish: The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international organization whose mission is to promote responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC® sets forth principles, criteria, and standards that span economic, social, and environmental concerns for the preservation & sustainability of our natural wood resources. The FSC® standards represent the world’s strongest system for guiding forest management toward sustainable outcomes. These standards for forest management have been applied in over 57 countries around the world and are endorsed by every major environmental group. FSC®-certification of a product ensures to the end-user, through independent 3rd-party audits, that the paper comes from well-managed forest and is manufactured by companies that adhere to strict environmental and socioeconomic standards. Customers buying FSC® certified paper and envelopes are assured that the paper used in the manufacture of these products originates from FSC® certified sources. FSC® certification has a strong recognition throughout the world as a credible program promoting the responsible use of the earth’s resources. FSC® certified products are considered more beneficial for the environment because they are made from certified fibers from well managed forest. As an FSC® chain-of-custody certificate holder, FSC® certified products shipping from Drummond Press maintain the chain of custody for products shipped to other FSC® certified companies thereby maintaining the required traceability and accountability necessary. Purchase of FSC®-certified paper and print products contribute to conservation, responsible management, and community level benefits for people near the forests that provide your paper. FSC®-certified products takes business away from other companies that may still be supporting illegal, unsustainable, unverified logging activities. While recycled fiber is a key element of the traditional model for responsible consumption, it is becoming increasing clear that forest management in the production of the wood used in paper manufacturing, has more fundamental importance than even recycled fiber. Only 35% of current consumption is met by using recycled fiber. Buying FSC®-certified paper and carrying the FSC®-certification logo on your print products tells the world that you support the highest social and environmental standards in the market where you use paper FSC® independently tracks, traces and identifies wood fibers from the forest through every step of the procurement process, confirming that each supplier along the way follows rigorous controls, management and reporting practices. FSC® has a strong “chain-of-custody” certification thereby prevents “Green Washing” i.e., making statements on a company’s environmental stewardship without proof or verification.
