Founded in the 1980’s by Suzanne Boulos, a well-regarded and accomplished court reporter, Downtown has been consistently providing high-quality court reporting services to some of Florida’s most prominent law firms, insurance companies and leading corporations. During that time, Downtown has been fortunate enough to develop long standing relationships with both its clients and court reporters. In September, 2013, Downtown acquired Friedman Lombardi & Olson (“FLO”), the oldest court reporting agency in South Florida, with roots in Miami beginning in 1948. FLO and its reporters service many of the finest law firms in Florida, with highly regarded court reporters who have worked for FLO for many years. In 2009, Michael Frost acquired Downtown. Prior to acquiring Downtown, Mr. Frost was from 2004 to 2007 the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Official Reporting Service LLC, at the time, the largest independent court reporting agency in South Florida. Mr. Frost brings his background as an attorney and businessman to the day to day operations of Downtown. Under his leadership, Downtown has grown exponentially. Downtown was recently awarded a spot on Inc. Magazines’ List of 5000 fastest growing companies. In 2016, Frost and lifelong friend and now Partner, Adam Shaprio, acquired Metro Court Reporters, Inc which has been servicing the Greater Detroit legal community for decades. Now together Downtown Reporting has expanded its corporate and administrative reach into the State of Michigan. Downtowns’ stable of court reporters is very deep and highly credentialed, as a group having achieved the highest certifications available to the court reporting industry.
