When I closed my hair salon years ago, I remember a client saying, 'You won't be happy unless you find a profession that helps others. Continuing my passion of helping others, as I did as a salon owner, unbeknownst to me, would be delayed. My family needed my assistance in caring for my dad who was affected by Alzheimer's. I learned a lot in those 10 years. I managed all aspects of my dads care including when and how to begin the process of rightsizing his home as he continued to age. At the same time, I provided care and support for his wife, whom was also affected by this change. I coordinated and helped her to find the right assisted living care. Both she and my dad lived in their house for 38 years and this left her asking, 'What do I do with all the "stuff". I remember thinking, "This is what I want to do. I want to help others as if they were family to transition through this next phase." It turns out that my client was right.
Howard is a graduate of the University of Toledo. Howard was faced with many challenges throughout his 45 years of management in the food industry. What surfaced frequently was the need to relocate and expand small food facilities into larger food facilities to foster growth. He was also faced with the opposite need to downsize larger facilities into smaller facilities in an effort to create a simpler environment. His prior work experience provided him with the knowledge and aptitude to monitor and take action to meet desired goals. This next phase of his life allows him to draw upon his prior experience to guide and assist people as they move forward to the next phase of their lives, too.
I so appreciated Norma Jean and Howards help during this tumultuous and difficult time in our lives. They specifically helped with doing things I did not want to tackle such as finding a future home that would accept my baby grand piano and found the right mover to do that. They accompanied me to my new home explaining what would fit where and further understood that my height required all closet shelving to be lowered so when they left I could easily access everything I needed without having to risk an injury.
Just a little note to let you know how helpful you were to me in organizing my files and my garage. You did a wonderful job with very little direction from me. I would highly recommend you to anyone. I felt that you were very honest and trustworthy.
