DOUBLE M AVIATION, LLC, Lakeland

In 1993, Mike began his aviation career at Aircraft Engineering, Inc in Bartow, Florida where he gained valuable experience on a wide variety of aircraft. During his 20 years at Aircraft Engineering he qualified for his Airframe and Powerplant certificate and later his Inspector’s Authorization. Recognizing the value of understanding both the mechanical and operational aspects of an airplane, he also obtained his pilot‘s license with single and multi-engine ratings. Mike’s passion for all types of piston and turbine aircraft motivated him to move to Lakeland Linder Airport and open Double M Aviation. With experience in single and twin engine, piston and turbine aircraft, Mike strives to provide quality aircraft maintenance with individualized customer support. Double M Aviation Audrey began her aviation career working line service at a local FBO and later as a maintenance technician after earning her Airframe and Powerplant certification in 2008. She then moved to managing the office at a general aviation repair station and later into business aviation with a private jet management company where she oversaw all the maintenance tracking and record keeping. In 2014 she also earned her Inspector’s Authorization. Audrey’s varied aviation experience has provided her with a full understanding of the unique facets of both general and business aviation. As the primary point of contact at Double M Aviation, Audrey is committed to providing our customers with individualized and quality customer service. Double M Aviation Micheal began his aviation career when he join the US Marine Corps in 1999. He worked as a powerline technician on Harriers until his honorable discharge in 2004. After his military service he earned his Airframe and Powerplane Certificate while working for a company that provided maintenance for well-known blimps. He then moved to a general aviation repair station providing maintenance on a wide variety of single and multi-engine aircraft. In 2014 he also earned his Private Pilot’s License with Single Engine rating. Micheal’s experience on such a wide range of aircraft gives him a full understanding of both powerplant and airframe operating systems and makes him a valuable asset to the maintenance team at Double M Aviation. Double M Aviation With technicians that specialize in single and multi-engine aircraft and are qualified in pressurized piston and turbine powered aircraft, Double M Aviation is equipped to handle all your general aviation maintenance needs. Some aircraft owners chose progressive or phase inspections instead of annual inspections. A progressive or phase inspection requires more frequent but shorter inspections. By breaking up the inspections it also breaks up the high dollar costs of a single event. When time is valuable, Double M Aviation is fully equipped to complete all aspects of a phase inspection. Our focus is to keep you out of the hangar and in the sky. Take a look at your latest weight & balance report. Was the aircraft physically weighed on scales, or was it a calculated weight? You’ll probably find the report was calculated when the last modification was completed. While there’s nothing wrong with this method, overtime your aircraft gets heavier due to the compilation of negligible weight items, paint touch-up, etc. Physically weighing your aircraft provides a true weight, allowing more accurate weight and balance calculations to be made, improving the overall safety of your aircraft. On site fueling provided by local FBO Double M Aviation is located directly at Lakeland Linder Airport. The airport is centrally located in sunny Florida and can easily accommodate all aircraft with an 8,500 foot runway. In addition to Double M Aviation’s maintenance facility, it is also home to excellent paint shops, interior shops, and avionics facility, with a full service FBO and on field restaurant. Double M Aviation and Lakeland Linder Airport are a complete solution for both piston and turbine aircraft owners and pilots. Flying over Lakeland on a Sunday I had oil temps shoot up to 240 and cut short our trip to land at KLAL. Went to Sheltair and got Double M Aviation’s phone number. Mike Naab was working on something else and dropped it to come help us out. He was very thorough and methodically went over every possible cause (not everyone works on experimental aircraft) until he found some faulty wiring and repaired it. I was shocked when he said it would be one-hour standard charge for his time. Not only did I find someone on a Sunday who was a terrific mechanic, he is fair and reasonable. If I lived anywhere close he would be my mechanic, if your looking for a good one call Mike. Thanks Mike, and my family back in AZ thank you to for getting me on my way home I have known and worked with Mike Naab, co-founder of ‘Double M Aviation’ for several years on various types of planes, from piston-singles to turbine twins. He is essentially a protégé of the legendary Bill Turley of Aircraft Engineering- extremely competent, honest, and professional. I cannot say enough good things about Double M, their staff, and would recommend them to anyone needing A&P work, from piston-single to twin-turbines in the Central Florida area Look nowhere else than Double M Aviation and the team of Mike Naab for your aviation maintenance needs. He and his team have been servicing my aircraft for many years now. He has been through the test and emerged as a very talented survivor. My operation would not of had the success it has had without Mike and his efforts. If you stop by his shop and shake his hand you will have started a lifetime of great maintenance that will still be there many years down the road. Quality maintenance with no excuses is no BS. because he is the real deal. Landed at KLAL on a Thursday evening in a Piper Archer to pick up passengers. The starter’s Bendix drive broke off as we were trying to fire up. As always, being stranded away from home is never good news. The guys a Sheltair immediately offered to put “Mike” on the Phone to offer assistance. To make a long story short, Mike Naab from Double M Aviation, who has a huge facility next to Sheltair, took care of ordering a new starter rush and have it installed the next day so we could continue our trip. Double M Aviation gave us an honest, efficient and excellent turnkey repair, we did not have to worry about anything other than filing our flight plan out of KLAL, highly recommend.
