About the Don Harrison Foundation When Don and his wife retired to Florida, he continued his interests in giving back to those less fortunate. He was ever ready to jump to someone’s aid, roll up his sleeves and lend a hand. He had a saying “Mano y Mano”, which means hand in hand. This is exactly how he helped people. Throughout his life, he somehow managed to always be there for his family, friends, and strangers. This kind of compassion, strength, and perseverance came from deep within. He sought out those in need and worked tirelessly to make his community a better place. Don was a Master Mason and a Shriner. Some of his favorite local charities were the Shriner Children’s Hospital, Vets Helping Vets of Marion County, The Ocala Symphony Orchestra. Through all his activities and hobbies, he loved nothing more than to help others. He was always focused on outcomes. He wanted to create a local organization that would partner with other like groups working toward a common goal of a healthier thriving community. Though Don’s life was tragically cut short, his dreams and spirit lives on in the foundation, which bears his name. We are committed to continue his legacy of honor, brotherhood, strength, and charity. Thank you for any support you choose to provide. Who is the Don Harrison Foundation? Don loved nothing more than to help others and was always focused on outcomes. I am fully committed to continuing Don’s legacy through the Don Harrison Foundation. I have a master’s degree in nursing and have enjoyed a 40+ year career in health care helping people in need, both in the private and civil sectors. Don Harrison’s thoughtfulness and vision of helping the community was done with such pride, courage, brotherhood and generosity. His legacy needs to be carried on, which is why I am committed to helping, and growing, this foundation. Mission & Vision Welcome to the Don Harrison Foundation! The Mission of the Foundation is to provide deserving local charities support through fundraising and volunteer activities. The Don Harrison Foundation is a private, non-profit 501C3 organization, Formed in 2015 for the purpose of assisting responsible deserving local charities, and educational establishments.
