“Dogtown” is the nickname for South Providence, Rhode Island, where my parents John and Marie Forde were born, raised, met, married and started their family. The cornerstone of Dogtown Investigations is hardworking, humble and resilient people dedicated to service – just like my parents. When I was a DEA Agent and was thinking of starting a private investigative agency upon my retirement, I knew Dogtown Investigations would be the name to honor them. After graduating from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and the University of Hartford, Dan was working in the maritime industry for several years when he met a DEA agent while doing his Navy active duty training and learned that the Drug Enforcment Administration (DEA) was actively recruiting new Special Agents. Having two brothers who were police officers in Rhode Island and always having an interest in federal law enforcement, Dan applied and nearly 2 years later attended the FBI Academy in late 1997.
