I have been an Amateur Astronomer and Telescope Maker for 50 years. As our family traveled throughout the United States I wanted to use a small refractor for nature photography and as a grab and go astronomical telescope. After using several Alt-Azimuth mounts and refusing to put up with the shake and imbalance problems I saw with mounts on the market, I decided to design and build my own. The Patented DiscMount is the result. Several friends suggested to me to manufacture and sell the mount. After having a huge success at the 2003 Winter Star Party in the Florida Keys, DiscMounts, Inc. was formed on April 18, 2003.
