Founded in 1987, Disability Specialists, Inc. (DSI) was a pioneer in the area of case design, creating unique combinations of Group LTD and Individual Employer Paid Disability Insurance for highly- compensated employees and professional groups. As Employer Paid Individual Disability Programs lost popularity and Voluntary Individual Disability Programs gained popularity, the need for creative case design was replaced by the need for effective voluntary enrollment strategies. DSI recognized an industry-wide void of companies skilled at effectively enrolling these complex programs. In early 2016, DSI acquired Advisor Group Benefits, a highly-specialized benefit consulting firm serving independent advisors, broker-dealers and associations. Together they set the new standard for Advisor Benefit Programs by aligning plan designs, service, and technology with the distinct needs of financial advisors, while delivering unprecedented value to their broker-dealers. We specialize in designing and enrolling disability insurance plans for Associations and groups of white collar professionals. We are very selective about forming such partnerships, but once engaged we will deliver a completely unique and specialized insurance program. DSI has deep expertise in coverage design for Professional Athletes, Executives, and Physicians who have exceptionally high income, require disability buy-sell agreements, or have other special risk circumstances. We will work directly with clients or through their Advisor, Agent, or Attorney. Until DSI created it, there has not been a way to ensure that divorce settlement and child support payments continue if the person making those payments, “the Payor” became totally disabled. The DSI solution is especially suitable for divorce settlements with total annual payments in excess of $200,000. DSI provided the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association with a great Voluntary Benefits Package for our members. DSI's advisors were polite, informative and knowledgeable when contacting our members, and conducted an efficient, problem free enrollment. There is no question our members view this as a value-added benefit of being a PPMA member. We have been extremely happy with our relationship with DSI, they are always professional and responsive to our needs and their enrollment process was handled very efficiently.
