Digiwest is a full service computer and technology firm providing managed IT services, software programming and specialized traffic data collection equipment throughout the United States, Canada, Australia and the Middle East. Digiwest began work in the information technology field in 1995, specializing in work for civil, environmental, and traffic engineering firms and their highly specialized needs. Digiwest staff are highly trained and experienced. The firm recently applied for and is pending approval of the ISO9000 operational practices, which relates to; staff training, experience; product development, practices and operational systems. ISO9000 is a nationally recognized process and includes very stringent guidelines and requirements to insure products and services performed in a consistent manner at the highest possible level and with the best possible results. In particular, our BlueMAC data collection hardware, construction and assembly are major components in our approved products The Digiwest software team have a combined 25 years traffic software programming experience. In addition to numerous specialty packages of firm or small agency programs, the Digiwest team of programmers where selected for the development of the companion version software for the Federal Highway Capacity Manual. Again, in 2009, Digiwest was selected to develop the companion software for the Federal Highway Safety Manual, referred to as HiSafe, ( Digiwest has been a national pioneer in the development and use of Bluetooth data collection readers. Digiwest started with MAC address collection devices for traffic data in 2007. Using Bluetooth detection, MAC address data was collected and translated into useful origin-destination and travel time information. Digiwest has lead or participated in origin-destination and travel time studies throughout the world, with the world’s largest ongoing project of over 200 portable devices deployed permanently in the Middle East. We have since provided traffic collection data for over 150,000,000 vehicles in over 300 study projects worldwide. The Digiwest BlueMAC data collection devices and software are currently deployed and in use in CalTrans District 12 on major arterial roadways. The BlueMAC system includes features and services that allow the resulting aggregated data to feed in to the State of California PeMS system and provide live travel information. The Caltrans District 12 has taken advantage of this feature, and data is included into PeMS.
