The history of DiGiovanni Homes begins with history of the man who started it, Agostino “Gus” DiGiovanni. Gus began his career in 1962 at the age of fifteen as an apprentice brick layer in the small town of Rocccomorici, Italy. Three years later he immigrated to Canada, where he spent another eleven years working on major commercial construction projects. In 1976, Gus moved to Florida with a group of family investors to begin construction of their first major project, the Four Oaks Motel on Gulf to Bay Blvd. Over the next twenty years Gus and his family build over fifteen successful hotels and restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. It was at the end of this successful period that Gus made the decision to create DiGiovanni Homes. DiGiovanni Homes first project began in early 2000 on Clearwater Beach with a ten unit town home project called Brightwater Townhomes. It was a major success, and many believe it spurred the great development seen on Clearwater Beach in the early 2000s. DiGiovanni Homes went on to build three more townhome communities on Clearwater Beach before moving on to the custom homes scene in 2006 with the development of Renaissance Oaks. Despite the great downturn in the housing market between 2007 and 2010, DiGiovanni Homes built 22 custom homes in the Renaissance Oaks community. Most recently, DiGiovanni Homes completed the Harbor Key Townhomes project in Safety harbor, just at the entrance of downtown on Main St. and McMullen Booth Rd. The Harbor Key community was hailed as an amazing addition to city of Safety Harbor and a great success for DiGiovanni Homes. Today, DiGiovanni Homes is continuing its tradition of quality construction with the development of Brittany Park Townhomes in Northern Pinellas County. Phase one of the development is scheduled for completion in early 2015. Agostino “Gus” DiGiovanni is the founder and President of DiGiovanni Homes. With over 50 years of hands on construction experience, he has expert knowledge of nearly every construction trade. Gus personally oversees every project DiGiovanni Homes is involved in. He handles all major land acquisition and development, and he is the chief estimator and planner for each project. Gus is responsible for all major strategic planning for DiGiovanni Homes. Steven DiGiovanni is the primary purchasing manager and operations manager on the job site. His responsibilities include organization of the job site and quality management of subcontractors. Steven is also the site accountant for DiGiovanni Homes. Patrick DiGiovanni is the sales manager for DiGiovanni Homes. He is the main source of contact for customers and helps them choose finishes and customization options. He ensures that all customers are completely satisfied with their new home. Patrick is also responsible for the coordination of buyer, real estate agent, and closing agent for all sales. Peter Tanacs has been a crucial part of the DiGiovanni Homes team for the last two years. Peter is the go-to guy for general maintenance requests and issues. Peter has extensive experience laying tile, installing hard wood flooring, framing, and restoration work. He is responsible for on site management of subcontractors and construction materials. We discovered DiGiovanni Homes when looking to build our dream Florida home and couldn't be more pleased. We selected one of their beautiful models located in one of their newly developed gated communities. They were so helpful and accommodating. Even when wanting to customize various aspects of the home both inside and out. They and their tradesmen were very efficient, respectful and professional.
