Mark DeYoung is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over eighteen years experience counseling and helping families and children. His BA is in Human Resources, and Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He completed his PhD in Child Development in the spring of 2008. His dissertation was titled, "Attachment Phenomena in Foster Families: Exploring Contributions from Foster Parents’ Early Attachment Experiences,” and focused on the role of attachment in foster families. He currently provides In-Home counseling services for families in the Fort Worth region of North Texas. His private practice includes the following counseling services: Marriage Therapy, Family Therapy, Foster family therapy, Adoption work, Parenting support and coaching. He has provided training in a variety of environments, including professional seminars for churches, schools, and child care facilities. He is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. His experiential therapy work has provided him a backdrop to lead families and organizations in effective goal attainment through hands-on activities. A session usually lasts 45-50 minutes, although longer sessions might be considered useful. We recommend sessions every other week for 4 out of 5 of our clients/families. Between sessions, you may have homework, (journaling, reading a book, or practicing skills) that can help facilitate change more efficiently. We believe having sessions less frequently allows some time for this work to get done. We typically only recommend weekly sessions if the client/family is in crisis. We currently believe that our clients are best served by not utilizing insurance for outpatient mental health services. We are happy to explain this philosophy in an initial phone call. Dr. Mark DeYoung is a dynamic family therapist who has pioneered therapy delivery methods in many unique environments. He has served in many capcities including substance abuse treatment, foster care, adoptions, marriage intensives, church and organizational consulting, missionary families (locally and internationally) and training for numerous orgnaznizations. Though he has had a wide range of experiences much of his work his focused in helping families through therapy. The family is a Providing In Home Therapy services give Dr. Mark a great chance to help families on their "own turf". He uses Family Systems and Attachment approaches to help with Marriage, Marital Affairs, Depression, Anxiety, Parenting, Adoption, and Foster care issues. Dr. Mark DeYoung provides seminars for groups and organizations. He has spoken to family therapy conferences, schools, and churches. He also created the Intended Results system for outcomes collections and analysis to help organizations achieve their goals.
