Richard R DeSoto is the Principal and CEO of DeSoto Healthcare Solutions (DHS), LLC.  Founded in 2010 with a goal to assist Healthcare Providers improve their cash and financial operations, DHS, LLC was the leader of multiple engagements that have far exceeded both DHS, LLC and client goals. Richard is a Certified Revenue Cycle Executive with over 35 years of healthcare financial, information systems, and revenue cycle experience. He served for eight years as the Operations Leader (Vice President Eastern Operations) and was the CIO/CTO for the Dell/Perot System Revenue Cycle Solutions group. During this time, he directed and managed staffs on multiple simultaneous successful operations assisting his client hospitals improve their cash flow and customer relations.  He recruited staff and consultants, managed the operational team, and served as the principal leader in the development of a Consolidated Business Office (CBO) for two separate large healthcare systems and re-engineered a large third system. These CBO operations far exceeded their stated goals within the first year of operations. He has also provided consulting services and cash improvement projects working with a large healthcare system (over 30 hospitals and 2,200 physicians) to small community healthcare providers. Each project was successful for his clients. Richard is a member of HFMA and AAHAM. He has an Associate of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana University. He served in the United States Army as a Field Artillery Officer. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in a combat zone and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He is the author of a book titled �Never A Hero� detailing his service in Vietnam.
